The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie two Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render services towards the community.

SASSA might be rendering providers including new social grant applications, change of payment method, client treatment enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency mentioned it's alarmed in regards to the higher number of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The aim with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some superior amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is certainly a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no completely functional office devoted to service the area each day. The company level established for intervention experiences a substantial inflow of prospective beneficiaries, that makes it difficult to the Workplace to attend to all people who stop by SRD a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise a lot more methods to help the servicing of all buyers and maximize access to Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
